Unfaithful Truth is the adult sex game where cheating is the rule!
Unfaithful Truth is best enjoyed with three or four couples, six to eight players in total, but it can be played with up to five couples or as few as two couples.
The game uses Action Cards and Truth Cards, with each player drawing an Action Card and Truth card on their turn. The game is played in three rounds, each round hotter than the last!
But before you play the game, be sure to read the sizzling hot story that inspired it all—available at Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, Apple, Google, and other ebook retailers (sorry, it’s just too hot for Amazon!).
Who Should Play?
Everyone playing Unfaithful Truth must be an adult (18+) and must be informed ahead of time that it is an adult sex game which will involve stripping, revealing sexual secrets, flirting, touching, and kissing, and will likely conclude with some down and dirty acts of infidelity.
If anyone or their partner is not comfortable with this, they must not be pressured into participating or be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The game is designed to be played by a group of couples. These couples may be married or unmarried, so the term ‘SO’ (significant other) will be used throughout these rules, rather than spouse or partner.
Unfaithful Truth is best played between couples who are all mutual friends, but who are not necessarily swingers, polyamorous, or already in open relationships. In fact, this game works best as an icebreaker to a more sexually open lifestyle. Couples who are already swingers, poly, or in open relationships will not have as much to hide when it comes to the questions or may not even consider extramarital sex to be cheating.
Preparing for the Game
Since this is not a for-sale game that you can buy, you’ll need to print the cards yourself.
Buy two packs of standard playing cards with different backings, one for Action Cards and one for Truth Cards. For example, one set of blue Bicycle cards and one red. Declare one color for Action and the other for Truth. But any kind will do, as long as the two sets have distinct backs.
You can also buy completely blank playing cards, but you will need to print backs for them as well, or simply write ‘Action’ and ‘Truth’ on the backs.
Buy some 8.5 x 11 inch vinyl sticker paper for your printer, and make sure you get the right type for laser vs inkjet. You will print the cards on this vinyl paper.
Click here to download the PDF containing all the Action cards and Truth cards for this game, ready to print out.
If playing an LGBTQ+ game, you will need to modify some Action and Truth Cards to remove the gender designations.
Feel free to make up your own Action Cards or Truth Cards, and get creative! You can use the blank playing card template (found at the end of that PDF file) to print any kind of card you like.
Once you have all the card labels printed on the vinyl sticker paper, adhere the Action Card labels to the front of the playing cards you designated as Action Cards and the Truth Card labels to the fronts of the playing cards you designated as Truth Cards.
Do not mix up cards from different rounds (those being Warm-Up, Risqué, and All-the-Way). All cards should be labeled with which round they belong to and should be kept with the cards of that same round.
Now you should have a complete set of Action Cards and Truth Cards. Time to get frisky with friends!
Hosting the Game
Unfaithful Truth should be played as the main event of a get-together and should come later in the evening. Any get-together with friends could set the stage, such as a dinner party, a cook-out, or a day spent playing other adult games such as Cards Against Humanity, Never Have I Ever, or Truth or Dare.
If you are the host, everyone attending should be informed about the game that is to be played. Even if you wish to make it a surprise, you must still inform everyone that a sex game will be played, a bit like truth or dare, and will involve getting naked and acts of infidelity. The game can, however, stop after the Risqué level, which can still be fun without going all the way.
Who Sits with Who
When the time comes, gather everyone in your living room. Make sure there is adequate seating, such that two people can always be sitting next to each other. This might be a combination of loveseats, a four-person sofa, two chairs set next to each other, or a beanbag or pillows on the floor if nothing else.
Couples must not sit together. If there are two couples, simply swap partners. If there are three couples, rotate the men (or the ladies) one person to either the left or right. If there are four or five couples, the men (or ladies) may swap seats with the person directly across from them, or you can choose randomly. One way to randomly choose is to write all the ladies’ names on a strip of paper and put them in a bowl. The men will draw a name, and will re-draw if they draw their SO’s name. Once determined, the lady whose name he drew will sit next to him.
If playing an LGBTQ+ game, or with participants who are bisexual, gender pairing may not matter quite as much. In that case, have everyone put their name in a bowl and draw until everyone is paired up with someone else, regardless of gender.
Rounds of the Game
The full game of Unfaithful Truth has three rounds: Warm-Up, Get Risqué, and Go All-the-Way.
The Game Rounds can also be used to control how far people want to go. You could stop after the Warm-Up round for a mild game, or take the game through the Get Risqué round for those who aren’t afraid to get a little frisky.
But be careful! The final round, Go All-the-Way, will have everyone committing adultery by the end.
The Game Play
When you’re ready to start, get the Action Cards and Truth Cards ready. Ensure the Warm-Up, Risqué, and All-the-Way Action Cards and Truth Cards are separated from each other. The Truth Cards should be shuffled (three separate shuffled stacks), but the Action Cards must go in a specific order for each round. Make sure the Action Cards are in reverse order in their stack, since they will be placed face down.
You must also choose who will start the game. Typically, this will be host or hostess of the gathering, but you may choose by whatever means you like.
To keep the explanation of the rules short and sweet, read the following to the other players:
“This game has three rounds (or two, if only going up to Risqué). There are 8* of us, so there will be 8* turns each round. There are also 8* Action Cards which must go in a specific order. On each player’s turn, the player will flip an Action Card and everyone must perform the action. They will then draw a Truth Card and read the card. The card has a question which they must answer truthfully, and they must state their answer in a complete sentence, providing details if required.
Once they have answered, their SO (significant other) must also answer the same question!
It will then be the next player’s turn, and they will flip over an Action Card, then draw a Truth Card, just as before. The game will continue, going around to the left until everyone has taken their turn. After everyone has taken their turn, we will switch the Action Cards and Truth Cards out with the Risqué set. (If including the Go All-the-Way round:) After the Risqué round, we will switch the Action Cards and Truth Cards out with the final set of cards.”
* Adjust these numbers as needed. If there are 4 couples, it is 8 players, 8 turns, and 8 Action cards. For 3 couples, it is 6 players, 6 turns, and 6 Action Cards. For 2 couples, it is 4 players, 8 turns (as you will go around twice), and 8 Action cards. For 5 couples, it is 10 players, 10 turns, and 10 Action Cards. More than 5 couples is not advised. Seriously. Just have an orgy.
Warm-Up Round
The game should begin with the Warm-Up round, using the Warm-Up Action Cards (set in their reversed numbered order, since they will be placed face down) and the Warm-Up Truth Cards (well shuffled). Make sure the Action Cards are in reverse order in their stack, since they will be placed face down. Set the two sets of cards out on the table.
If there are 2 couples (4 players) or 4 couples (8 players) set out 8 Action Cards in their numbered order, face down. If there are three couples (6 players), set out the 6 Action Cards designated for a 6-player game. If there are 5 couples, you will need to add or make up 2 additional Action Cards.
Starting with whichever player has been designated to go first, that player will flip over the first Warm-Up Action Card and read it out loud. Everyone must perform the action described on the card. Then they will draw the top card from the shuffled Warm-Up Truth Card deck. They must read the question on the card out loud and then answer truthfully. They must also state their answer in a complete sentence and provide details if required. Once they have answered, their SO must also answer the same question.
The turn will then move to the player on the left.
Going around the room, once all players have had their turn, and the turn is back to the player who started, move on to the Risqué Round. However, if this is a 2-couple game (4 players), go around one more time, thus giving everyone two turns and going through all 8 Action Cards.
Risqué Round
The game continues in the Risqué round, using the Risqué Action Cards (set in their reversed numbered order, since they will be placed face down) and the Risqué Truth Cards (well shuffled). Remove the Warm-Up cards and set the two sets of cards for the Risqué round out on the table.
The order of the game continues as it did for the Warm-Up round, only this time using the Risqué cards. In accordance to the Action Cards, some players may have changed seats, and will thus have a different order in the round. Remember, once the player has answered, their SO must also answer the same question.
Once all players have had their turn, and the turn is back to the player who started, move on to the All-the-Way Round. However, if this is a 2-couple game (4 players), go around one more time, thus giving everyone two turns and going through all 8 Action Cards.
All-the-Way Round
Before entering the All-the-Way round, the host or hostess must ask: “Is everyone ready to go all the way?” If anyone is unwilling to go further, the game must end at this point, or the couple in question can leave the game (which may require adjustments to make it a 3-couple or 2-couple game). Regardless, you must not force any player to continue against their will.
Alternatively, you may reshuffle and replay the Risqué round instead.
But if everyone is OK with continuing, the game moves into the final round, using the All-the-Way Action Cards and the All-the-Way Truth Cards. Remove the Risqué cards and set the two sets of cards for the All-the-Way round out on the table.
The order of the game continues as it did for the previous rounds, only this time using the All-the-Way cards. In accordance to the Action Cards, some players may have changed seats, and will thus have a different order in the round. Remember, once the player has answered, their SO must also answer the same question.
By the time the All-the-Way round ends, all players should be naked, hot, and horny. Any promises made during the round must be fulfilled, either directly following the game or at some future agreed upon time.
Action Cards and Truth Cards
This is the list of suggested Action Cards and Truth Cards. Copy and print them according to the instructions in “Preparing for the Game.”

If playing a 3-couple (6-player) game, remove two cards of your choice. For a 5-couple (10-player) game, you will need to make up two more Actions, or duplicate two Actions that make sense to duplicate. For a 2-couple game, replace Action 8 with a second Action 4.

If playing an LGBTQ+ version, remove ‘of the opposite sex’ or any specific gender references.
Feel free to add more Truth Cards, but be sure to make them as hot and compromising as you possibly can, in keeping with the All-the-Way round.
Again, you can find these cards in this ready-to-print PDF containing all the Action cards and Truth cards for this game.
Concluding the Game
If you stopped at the end of the Risqué round, then everyone probably had a good time and maybe a few friends got frisky with each other, perhaps even pushing the comfort zone.
If you made it to the end of the All-the-Way round, then everyone is naked and has either already committed some adulterous infidelity, or has agreed to do so after the game or at some future date. It is possible that some arrangements were denied or that a couple may decide to back out. Once again, no one should be forced to take part in an activity they are uncomfortable with.
Ultimately, it is hoped that this game will loosen inhibitions and free couples to explore a more sexually open lifestyle. But everyone must also understand that such a lifestyle is not for everyone.
And, as always, practice safe sex!
